Foodie Opportunity at the Gazette!

The Daily Hampshire Gazette is looking for a local restaurant and food-beat freelance reporter.

The writer would post newsy and interesting short articles to a GazetteNET-hosted blog at least three times a week. The posts will run from 150 to 400 words.  Entries will focus on the world of local restaurants and food providers: new eateries, chefs moving from one restaurant to another, what’s hot on the seasonal menus, farmer’s markets, new cooking styles/techniques in the Valley, etc. These posts must be well-sourced, brightly written and suitable for publication in the daily paper.

The blog entries will be collected and published every other week in Hampshire Life, the Gazette’s Friday magazine. The feature replaces a review column, No Reservations. The magazine is seeking to broaden its coverage by offering more useful news about the restaurant scene. The posts will not be reviews.

The page will credit and promote the blog. The freelance position pays $200 a month.

Anyone interested in the assignment should contact Kristin Palpini, the Hampshire Life/Features Editor, by phone at (413) 585-5240 or by email at:kpalpini@gazettenet.com.
